This is a MAN Crankpin failure being machined and polished to the nearest undersize—INSITU

Prior to machining the Crankpin was checked for size….cracks….hardness….straightness and ovaility.

Finally the crankpin was annealed and the hardness reduced where machining was achieved at an acceptable limit .
